On October 8, a woman in her 30s came forward with a disturbing accusation against now disgraced actor Cho Jae-hyun. In total, this is the fifth sexual assault claim involving Cho. As a result, public disappointment and fatigue surrounding his case have only increased as more misdeeds by the actor are exposed.

The new accuser (herein referred to as Ms. A) told a media outlet on Monday that Cho sexually assaulted her when she was 17. According to South Korea’s age law, at the time that the alleged assault took place, a legal adult was someone 20-years of age and upward.

Further, in the news report, Ms. A explained that the attack happened 14 years ago. Talking about why she did not come forward earlier, the victim said that she felt ashamed after the incident and couldn’t speak about the assault as a result.

However, after learning that there were other victims, she decided to sue the Cho. Ms. A has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the actor for around 1 billion South Korean won in damages back in July.

In response to the new accusations, Cho’s legal representative said that Ms. A’s claims were not true.
