The donation made by Lee Min-ho and his official fan club was made celebrate the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics and more.
On January 30, the chairman of Holt Children’s Services Kim Dae-yeol confirmed the donation. In a statement, Mr. Kim said, “Actor Lee Min-ho’s fan club, Minoz, donated 1-ton of rice to welcome the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics.” Further, Lee Min-ho’s agency commented that “We hope the heartfelt gesture from the fans, here and abroad, will be meaningfully received.”
The rice will be used to support children from low-income families, children who have disabilities, and those who dream of becoming athletes. This donation continues a tradition started by the actor in 2014 to spread goodwill through various projects. As such, he and his fan club have had tree donations for environmental preservation and other volunteer activities.
The Holt Children’s Services is a comprehensive social welfare organization that provides professional social welfare for marginalized groups. Since 1955 the organization has cared for children orphaned due to war and poverty and works to find them new homes and families.
