Korean-Japanese film “Memories of a Dead End” featuring Sooyoung has confirmed its premiere date.
On October 9, Korean-Japanese collaboration film “Memories of a Dead End” confirmed to premiere on February 16, 2019 in Japan. The film previously gathered much attention for featuring SooYoung, a former member of Girls’ Generation, as its female lead.
“Memories of a Dead End” is a remake of a novel written by the Japanese writer, Banana Yoshimoto. It tells a story of a woman who heads to an unfamiliar city to heal the scars from losing the love of her life. Sooyoung as taken on the role of Yu-Mi, who travels from Seoul to Nagoya to see her long-distance relationship fiancee, only to find him lying in bed next to another woman.
On the other hand, Japanese actor Tanaka Shunsuke will play as her partner in the film. He took on the role of Nishiyama, the owner of coffee shop “End Point” who saves Yu-Mi from her despair.
Furthermore, the film and its cast recently received an invitation to attend the Busan International Film Festival. During the festival, they showcased its completed film for the first time in front of an audience.
Meanwhile, as the background of “Memories of a Dead End” is set in Nagoya, the film will pre-release the film in Nagoya on February 2, 2019. Afterwards, the official premiere will take place on February 16, 2019.
