With a powerful cast confirmed, JTBC’s upcoming winter drama is already creating a buzz.
JTBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Dazzling Snow” (working title) is already in the production stage and is set to air in the first half of 2019. Although the show is still in the early stages of creation, it is already causing a buzz.
Cast members Kim Hye-ja, Han Ji-min, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Son Ho-joon have all earning positive reputations for themselves. Kim is considered a great South Korean actress, Han an “sympathetic goddess,” Nam has become of the most anticipated next-generation actors, and Son is an irreplaceable actor in every role. However, it is not only the cast that is drawing attention.
Directors Kim Seok-yoon and Lee Nam-gyu who have worked on “Listen to Love,” “Awl,” “Old Miss Diary,” and the movie Detective K: Secret of the Bloodsucking Demon, are also on the bill. Additionally, Kim Soo-jin, the author of the book which inspired the series is expected to join the creative process.
Notably, this is Kim Hye-ja’s return to the small screen in three years. It is exciting news to have one of the best actresses in the country star in a television drama, especially once you understand why is considered a “national actress.” Kim has appeared in many different films and shows throughout her career. However, there are a few stand-outs.
Kim starred in the international hit film Mother, and “Unkind Ladies,” and “Dear My Friends” which aired in 2016. In particular, Kim has the ability to not fade from relevancy despite the passage of time. Interestingly, “Dazzling Snow” was written with Kim in mind to star in the project. As such, expectations are high for how the actress will take on the role — her very first in fantasy-romance.
