MBC’s “Idol Star Athletics Championships” (ISAC) finalizes details before scheduled filming later this month.
This year’s ISAC will conduct competitions in bowling, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, male aerobics, and track and field. Further, top-notch idols EXO, TWICE, Red Velvet, Wanna One, and more have already confirmed their participation in the event. Additionally, Jun Hyun-moo, Super Junior Leeteuk, and Apink Bomi will MC the event.
The athletic competitions will be particularly exciting with bowling joining the lineup for the first time. More, with Infinite and EXID Hani as special events, it is sure to be exciting. Since bowling has risen in popularity in recent years, idol groups had an enthusiastic response and many wanted to participate. Boy groups EXO and Wanna One, who are known as bowling enthusiasts, are expected to meet each other in a heated competition. Further, the popular rhythmic gymnastics event which was first included in 2016, will continue in 2018.
Every year MBC films and broadcasts ISAC, an idol sports festival established as a national holiday program. However, since there is a high chance of injury fans have expressed concern over the years. As such, the production team of ISAC will reinforce the medical team to deal with emergency situations, saying “first of all, the safety of idols is the top priority.”
The Idol Athletics Championships will air on Lunar New Year.
