Actor Hong Jong-Hyun has confirmed to appear in the Korean remake of ‘Absolute Boyfriend’

On May 30, C-JeS Entertainment reported “Hong Jong-Hyun has decided to appear in ‘Absolute Boyfriend’. We are currently making final adjustments.”

‘Absolute Boyfriend’ is a romantic comedy drama based on the popular Japanese manga series with the same name. It tells a story about a special effects makeup artist Uhm Da-Da and a intricately-designed “perfect boyfriend” robot.

Previously, the drama was going to air on OCN with the title ‘Romantic Comedy King.’ Actress Song Ji-Hyo received the offer to play in the role of Uhm Da-Da, but unfortunately the things didn’t work out in the final stages of adjustments.

In the drama, Minah will play in the role of Uhm Da-Da, and Yeo Jin-Goo as the robot. Furthermore, Hong Jong-Hyun will play in the role of a top star, who gets in a love triangle with Uhm Da-Da and the robot. While the role was originally offered to the actor Chun Jung-Myung, Hong Jong-Hyun ended up entering the final lineup of the cast members.

Director Jung Jung-Hwa from tvN’s ‘Flower Boy Next Door’ will direct the drama, while Yang Hyuk-Moon of ‘Mirrof of the Witch’ writes the script. The drama will start filming early July, but hasn’t confirmed when or where it will air.
