Only five members of Girls’ Generation have renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment. Although Taeyeon, Yoona, Hyo Yeon, Yuri, and Sunny will remain at SM, Sooyoung, Seohyun, and Tiffany have decided to leave the agency.

SM Entertainment announced on 9th, “Girls’ Generation is a very precious and meaningful group for both SM and the fans. The members are not thinking about a disband, either.”

The agency will discuss and decide on the remaining members’ future activities later.

Therefore, Girls’ Generation will be reorganized as a 5-member group.

The leaving members (Sooyoung, Seohyun, and Tiffany) will be either studying abroad or focusing on individual activities. Earlier, Tiffany has announced that she will be studying abroad to learn acting and possibly start her acting career overseas. Sooyoung and Seohyun will focus on their acting careers in Korea.
