On February 2, an official from Lee Jai-jin disputed the claims made by a fan concerning a series of fan meeting that concluded last November. The fan alleges that Lee Jai-jin did not fully fund the fan meets. Instead, he asked fans to “go dutch,” dividing the cost fo the fan meets between himself and those in attendance. Furthermore, the fan also claimed that only supporters with high purchasing power were able to attend.

In the Facebook post, the official apologized for any inconvenience to anyone who may have been affected by these claims. Moreover, having been involved in planning the events, they wanted to correct some of the misunderstanding circulating in the media.

First and foremost the official said that they had never intended to have the fan meets at a restaurant. This is an interesting and relevant point to include; having an event at a restaurant can make the price the gathering fluctuate due to the varying costs of food and drink. As such, it is likely that a set rate for the meetings could not be determined.

Notwithstanding,  Lee Jai-jin paid for the first event entirely, while fans who participated in the next two fan meetings voluntarily covered their costs. This is because the second the third events “were arranged with prior consent from the participants.” As such, the fan club official has distributed an account number wherein the attendees would deposit what they owed. As a result, Lee Jai-jin “continued to meet with fans without knowing anything about the process.” The poster also contends that Lee Jai-jin continued to meet with this out of genuine gratitude for their support.

Lee Jai-jin reportedly found out about this situation at the time as everyone else through the media. Since then, the singer immediately remitted all of the money that the attendees had paid.
