Upcoming Drama “Boyfriend” with Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum may potentially air on tvN!
Previously, both Song Hye-Kyo and Park Bo-Gum reported that they are in talks to appear in the upcoming drama “Boyfriend” (working title) and return to small screen. While the actors are still deciding, several reports stated that the drama will air on tvN in December, as a Wednesday-Thursday drama.
On July 3, several sources reported that upcoming drama “Boyfriend” will air on tvN in December. However, a source from tvN denied and said, “we are currently discussing whether to add “Boyfriend” to tvN’s programming. However, we haven’t confirmed anything yet.”
Furthermore, both actors have not confirmed their appearance for the drama, either. Both agencies reported, “we are currently reviewing the offer. Because we still have to make many adjustments, it’s too soon to give our confirmation.”
Drama “Boyfriend” will tell a story about a woman who seems to have everything and an ordinary man, as they try to make their relationship work. The woman, potentially played by Song Hye-Kyo, is a recent divorcee who meets a younger man (Park Bo-Gum) who had just entered the real world. In the process, they face the prejudice and injustice from the rest of the world and grow from the hardships.
After 2016 “Love in the Moonlight,” Park Bo-Gum temporarily left the industry to focus on his education. He recently graduated from his university, and had announced his plans for a comeback before this year passes.
Song Hye-Kyo also rested after the end of KBS “Descendants of the Sun” in 2016. Afterwards, she married her former co-star Song Joong-Ki and has been carefully reviewing offers for her next work.
If the drama confirms its casting and networks, producer Park Shin-Woo from SBS “Don’t Dare to Dream” will take control of directing. Despite the level of uncertainty, much anticipation draws towards both actors’ possible comeback drama.
