Jung Yong-Hwa has been cleared of charges regarding his admission to Kyunghee University’s doctoral program.

On October 9, FNC Entertainment announced that CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-Hwa is officially cleared of all charges in getting preferential treatment during the admission process to Kyunghee University.

Earlier this year, Kyunghee University became the talk of the town when several reports accused the organization of giving preferential treatment to a few celebrities in attendance. The list of celebrities included CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-Hwa, who was accused of getting the favor while applying to the university’s graduate programs.

At the time, both the singer and his agency apologized to the public for causing an uproar. More specifically, FNC Entertainment stated that the agency had actually filled out the application to the school for Jung, as the company usually handles his schedules both in and outside of their career.

At the end, the agency stated that both the company and the singer thought the admission was submitted through a formal process and Jung had only done everything the agency had told him, too.

On October 9, Jung Yong-Hwa finally became cleared of all accusations and charges regarding his admission to Kyunghee University.

The following is the official statement from FNC Entertainment:

Hello, this is FNC Entertainment.

We hereby deliver an update about our artist Jung Yong-Hwa’s admission to his graduate school admission process.

Since the beginning of the year, Jung Yong-Hwa has diligently participated in all prosecutorial investigations. As a result, the prosecutors made a final decision that Jung Yong-Hwa was not guilty of obstruction of business regarding his admission to the school. In July, the prosecutors decided not to indict him.

Finally, Jung Yong-Hwa was able to clear himself of all misunderstanding and rumors regarding his admission to the grad school through the proper judgement of law. Moreover, the law acknowledges that the singer did not have any intention of receiving preferential treatment.

Meanwhile, Jung Yong-Hwa enlisted in the military last March and has completed the basic training with outstanding results. Currently, he is serving his country in the 702nd Special Assault Regiment.
