Rain fell none stop on May 12, but it did little to dampen the mood of the 50,000 people who came to singer Cho Yong-pil’s anniversary concert.

The concert at the Olympic Jamsil Stadium was arranged by Cho to express his gratitude toward fans who have supported him over the 50-year span of his career. With his passionate 150-minute long performance, it was easy to mistaken the 68 year old for someone decades younger.

“I started making music as a hobby because I liked it,” Cho said on stage, “turns out I’ve ended up doing it for my entire life.” He continued, “Everyone, It’s been around 50 years. Thank you.” Additionally, he performed his biggest hits and other representative songs like “Leopard of Mt. Kilimanjaro,” and “A Red Dragonfly.”

Meanwhile, boy group Seventeen participated in the opening of the show by Cho’s personal request. Moreover, luckily for fans, the singer will have additional concerts held over the next few weeks around the country.
