Chef Lee Chan-Oh has been indicted without detention for drug use.

On June 1, Seoul Central District Court announced they indicted Lee Chan-Oh without detention for violating the law on the management of narcotics on May 30. The first trial for Lee will take place on June 15.

According to JTBC’s ‘News Room,’ Lee Chan-Oh got caught snuggling hashish into the country in last October. At the time, Lee argued the drug was not his, but was tested positive for marijuana usage after urine examinations. Afterwards, the police arrested him for possession and use of drugs on December 14.

On December 16, Lee Chan-Oh appeared in the court for an actual inspection of warrant. During an investigation determine the warrant’s validity, he argued he “started using drugs after I experience depression from domestic violence and divorce.” Furthermore, he asked for leniency by saying his restaurants will go out of business if he is arrested, and he won’t get to pay his staff members.
