BTS, EXO, Monsta X, and Seventeen Nominated for International Artist on Teen Choice Awards

BTS, EXO, Monsta X, and Seventeen Korean have been nominated in this year’s International Artist category in this year’s Teen Choice Award.

K-pop boy groups dominated the nominee list for this year’s award show, taking three spots out of the five available nominee slots. The other two groups nominated are CD9, from Mexico, and CNCO, a five member group that emerge from Univision’s competition program “La Banda”.

This is the third year that the International Artist category and the second time that EXO has been nominated. 2NE1, Girls’ Generation, and Super Junior — who won the award in 2015 — have been the other k-pop group nominees in the past.

Winners are determined by the public through voting directly on the Teen Choice Award’s website, or by “retweeting” on their Twitter page.

The Teen Choice awards in an annual summer event that puts the selection of award categories in the hands of teenagers through votes. This year’s show will broadcast live on FOX starting at 8 pm EST, so make sure to get your votes in before tonight’s broadcast!
