BLACKPINK signs with a U.S. label Interscope Records and officially begins their international promotions!
On October 23, YG Entertainment reported, “BLACKPINK recently signed a contract with Interscope Records. We will work closely with the biggest music company, Universal Music Group, globally for the successful global debut and promotion of BLACKPINK.”
He continued, “in addition, we will do our best to help other YG artists to break through the North American and European territories as well.”
Furthermore, the CEO of Universal Music Group Sir Lucian Grainge announced the signing of a contract with the girl group himself, during the “UMG Global Leadership Summit” on October 10. Grainge said, “we look forward to building upon BLACKPINK’s remarkable early success by putting the global resources and expertise of UMG behind them and growing their audience around the world.” (Billboard)
Lastly, Teddy, the chief music producer of YG said, “it’s such a thrilling news. Today’s entertainment industry is more global than ever before.
