Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days (Along with the Gods 2) has made a record with the highest number of audience on the first day of release.

On August 2nd (KST), according to the data achieved by the Korean Film Council, Along with the Gods 2 had a total of 1,232,672 people to watch the film in theaters. The film is now #1 in the box office.

The number broke the record that was made by Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in June, which had a total of 1,182,374 audiences on the first day of release.

Furthermore, Along with the Gods 2 has become the first Korean movie in history to have more than a million audiences on the first day of release.

As a result, the movie earned 9,574,284,200 Won (which is roughly equivalent to 8.5 million USD) just in one day. It is also 69.4% of the total box office revenues on that day. In addition, the film has secured 1,968 screens, which is 36.0% of the total screen share.

Speaking of the screen share, in April this year, Avengers: Infinity War had secured a total of 2,461 screens. Along with the Gods 2 has about 500 less screens than the US film, but still it has attracted more audiences to theaters.

Considering the good start and success of the previous sequel Along with the Gods: the Two Worlds (total audience # 14,410,931), many are expecting that Along with the Gods 2 will also be able to break a 10 million audiences.
