Upcoming tvN drama “The Asdal Chronicle” has revealed its potential lineup and it’s making everyone impatient!

On July 19, a source from tvN’s new drama “The Asdal Chronicle” revealed that it is making final adjustments with their potential cast members. The list includes Song Joong-Ki, Kim Ji-Won, Jang Dong-Gun, and Kim Ok-Bin.

The source said, “while it is true that we have given offers to these actors, we haven’t confirmed anything yet. We are currently making final adjustments regarding their participation.”

“The Asdal Chronicle” is a first-ever Korean drama to tell fantasy stories about the first Korean kingdom. The general story will follow a hero, who sets foot in a land to build an empire. The writers from “Six Flying Dragons” and “Tree with Deep Roots” have returned to write another mythical Sageuk drama set in Gojoseon period. (Gojoseon is the name of the first Korean Kingdom established around 2333 BC. The knowledge about this kingdom is limited to myths and legends due to a lack of historical data.)

The drama has gained much attention especially for their estimated cost of production. As the drama is set to take place at a city-state, they had to put much effort into creating castles, stairs, and near neighborhood. In addition, director Kim Won-Suk from “Misaeng,” “Signal,” and “My Mister” has confirmed to direct the drama, creating much buzz as well.

Meanwhile, Song Joong-Ki received an offer to play in the role of Eun-Sum. He was born with an ability to predict the future. Later, he becomes the person to invade the city of Asdal and continues to expand the city-state into an empire.

Meanwhile, Kim Ji-Won received the offer to take on the role of Tan Ha. She is the first love of Eun-Sum and the future queen of the Asdal Empire. Furthermore, Jang Dong-Gun may take on the role of Tagon, the first king of Asdal and Kim Oh-Bin as Tae Al Ha, the future mother of Asdal King.

“The Asdal Chronicle” will be a pre-production drama, aiming for a premiere in the first half of next year.
