On April 9, actor Joo Won, who is currently serving in the military as an instructor of Baekgol training camp, shared stories about life in the military.

Through Republic of Korea Army: ROK Army’s Facebook account, Joo Won appeared in a live broadcast as a representative of training camp instructors. In the broadcast, Joo Won explained about the first 5-week basic training procedure in military in details.

Joo Won said, “the CBRN training has gotten easier with improved purifiers. The individual battle produces most injury because it covers all basic exercises and trainings. We have marched 5 times and have 3 more to go. When marching, the instructors have to wear the soldier’s gear and follow the troop in the back, and take care of any problems that might occur during the march.”

Joo Won enlisted in the military in last May. After explaining the basic training procedure, he even shared with us about his proud moment as the instructor. He said, “because I’m older than most of the soldiers, many come to me to talk about their concerns. When they share their problems but end up completing their military duties without any issues, I feel proud. I feel more proud especially when they contact me after they have returned to the society.”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG member G-dragon also received training at the Baekgol training camp in February. When asked if there was a trainee that left a great impression, Joo Won specifically mentioned G-dragon. He said, “I saw G-dragon a few weeks ago. He was trying really hard and I could tell that he had blended in well, even from afar. G-dragon left a great impression.”

At the end, he said, “military is something you have to go through as a male in South Korea. If you enjoy it, you will feel a lot more achieved. Thank you, I will always put my best effort into everything I do.”
