Amid the news of Hwang’s death, his girlfriend posted a long and sad letter on social media expressing her grief. She writes from Hwang to “comeback quickly,” and comments that “yesterday, and (those) other days were so happy, you know?” Further, she laments that just yesterday “(Hwang) said ‘I love you’ but I didn’t know it was the last time…so I answered roughly in my sleep.”

On another note, Hwang leaves behind a legacy as an active musical, stage, and drama actor. Previously, he has starred in “Glass Mask,” MBN’s “Yeonnam-dong 539,” and OCN’s “Evergreen.”
