KBS program “2 Days & 1 Night” has been recognized for increasing tourism in Korea.

On September 27, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be giving out 24 awards to people, and other such entities whose work has helped to promote tourism.

The ministry is giving out the awards to mark the 45th anniversary of Tourism Day. More, there are several different award tiers. According to the ministry, five medals, two industrial package wards, six presidential commendations, and 11 citations from the prime ministers.

The popular KBS entertainment programs “Happy Sunday” and “2 Days & 1 Night” are recipients of the coveted presidential commendation award. In particular for “2 Days & 1 Night,” first began airing 11 years ago in 2007. Since then, the public has recognized the show as a reliable comedic entertainment and for expanding tourism in Korea.

Meanwhile, for the award ceremony, 500 people will attend including the president of the ministry Ahn Young-bea and other diplomats.
